A truce between Hamas and Israel is in its fourth and potentially final day, Monday.

Over the first three days of the truce, Hamas released a total of 58 hostages, primarily women and children, in exchange for the release of 117 Palestinian prisoners.
US President Joe Biden said the US will push to extend the pause in fighting, allowing more hostages to be released and aid to reach Gaza.

Both Hamas and Israel have discussed the possibility.
Under the terms of the original truce agreement, Hamas needs to release 10 additional hostages for each day’s pause in the fighting. Israel, Hamas and the US are working through ongoing issues with the latest list of hostages set to be released Monday, sources say, including the fact that no mothers are on the list.

Hamas released another 17 hostages Sunday, including 4-year-old American-Israeli Abigail Edan. Thirty-nine Palestinian prisoners and detainees all teenagers, were freed from Israeli prisons later Sunday, officials said.
