The Nigerian Customs Service,NCS , Sokoto Zonal Command on Wednesday handed over 1,198 cartons of seized fake drugs to the National Agency for Foods, Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC in Sokoto.
While handing over the seized items to the agency at the Sokoto zonal office, the Area Controller, Comptroller MUSA OMALE, said the seizure was in line with the collaboration policy thrust of the Comptroller General of Customs BADHIR ADEWALE ADENIYI.
He said the unregistered pharmaceutical drugs pose great danger to the nation, reiterating that the problem of counterfeit drugs is a global scourge that the whole world is grappling with.
He assured NAFDAC of the command’s unflinching support for its fight against counterfeit drugs.
He warned smugglers to desist from the act saying the Command was battle-ready to curtail the nefarious deed.
Drugs handed over include 450 Cartons of Real Extra Tablet, 405 cartons of sex enhancement drugs, 148 cartons of condoms, 30 cartons of Vernos chewable drugs amongst others.
The Sokoto NAFDAC Coordinator, GARBA ADAMU, thanked the service for the unwavering synergy and collaboration toward safeguarding the life and health of Nigerians.
