The House of Representatives on Thursday, began the debate on the N27.5trn 2024 budget in preparation for Second Reading and likely passage.

Leading the debate on the general principles of the budget, House Leader, JULIUS IHONVBERE, commended President BOLA TINUBU, noting that national security and education which got significant allocations, will be enhanced if implemented.

He noted that Nigeria will be more secure with the allocation to defence and security.

The house leader added that as a teacher, he is impressed by the emphasis on basic education which he said will go a long way in improving the Nigerian education system .
